About the Program
Leadership Weld County is an immersive program for emerging leaders, providing them the opportunity to expand their capacity and capabilities to grow and perform in leadership roles within their own organizations. The program is open to professionals across Weld County and the Front Range who want to deepen their understanding of the region.
Programming begins with a focus on individual leadership behaviors through the DiSC® Assessment, which gives participants an intuitive way to understand themselves and others. From there, the class gains a comprehensive understanding of the community and region through sessions covering Healthcare, Economic Development, Public Safety, Education, Manufacturing, Energy, Non-Profit and Transportation delivered through tours, leadership sessions, educational panels, leadership moments and hands-on experiences.
In partnership with the Greeley Area Chamber of Commerce, LWC enhances the community by educating participants on pertinent regional issues and industries, building lasting connections among driven peers, and driving positive change through hands-on learning experiences.
Class Project: Building an Alumni Collaborative
As part of their experience, the 42nd class applied the Design Thinking framework to develop the foundation for an alumni collaborative, a new initiative aimed at strengthening connections among the more than 1,250 LWC alumni and creating ongoing opportunities for engagement, mentorship and regional impact. The project reflects the class’s commitment to ensuring that the leadership journey continues well beyond graduation.
