Leadership Weld County (LWC) is an immersive program for emerging leaders providing them the opportunity to expand their capacity and capabilities to grow and perform in leadership roles within their own organizations. Programming begins with a focus on learning individual leadership behaviors through the utilization of the DiSC® Assessment; the DiSC® model gives people a quick and intuitive way to understand themselves and others. In addition participants gain a comprehensive understanding of the community and region they live in. Class sessions cover topics including: Healthcare, Economic Development, Public Safety, Education, Manufacturing, Energy, Non-Profit and Transportation through the experience of tours, leadership sessions, educational panels, leadership moments and more. For over 41 years, LWC has been committed to ensuring to continuation of knowledgeable and effective leadership in Greeley and Weld County and produced over 1,250 leaders for the Greeley Area.
LWC, in partnership with the Greeley Area Chamber of Commerce, enhances our community by:

Candidates are selected with careful consideration. All participants should demonstrate:

- Demonstrated leadership potential and significant accomplishments within their organizations.
- Desire to strengthen leadership skills to meet regional needs.
- Commitment to invest the necessary time and effort required for program success, supported fully by their organizations.
General Info:
- Class sessions can last anywhere from 7-9 hours, please plan for a full day session
- LWC is scheduled from September through May
- Tuition covers all program execution costs and is nonrefundable.

- $950 Non-Investors
- Leadership Weld County class members may be absent for a maximum of one full day or two half days and still qualify for graduation.

Can multiple people from my organization apply to participate?
We encourage all interested individuals to apply. However, in most cases, we limit participation to one representative per organization per class year to ensure broad community representation. Additional applicants from the same company are welcome to apply and will be considered if space allows.

In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, we will use the contingency date of May 20, 2026 for the rescheduled session. Otherwise, no class will be held that day — only the graduation ceremony that evening.
Do I have to live or work in Weld County to apply?
Living or working in Weld County is not required to participate in Leadership Weld County. In fact, the program is a great fit for those who are new to the area or looking to get more connected. While a love for the community certainly helps, what matters most is your interest in learning, leading and making an impact in the region.
What is the selection process?
The Leadership Weld County Steering Committee meticulously reviews every completed application to identify candidates poised to leverage their leadership abilities for the long-term benefit of our region.
Being invited to participate in LWC is an honor, and with numerous qualified candidates, the selection process is rigorous. Candidates who are not selected are encouraged to reapply.
What year was the program created?
The first class was held in 1984. The first program was called Leadership
Greeley. The name later changed to Leadership Weld County to reach a wider audience of people.
Are there scholarship opportunities available?

Are there ways to stay involved after graduating?
Absolutely! Leadership Weld County has an active alumni network that offers opportunities to stay connected, engaged and informed.
