The Greeley Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce its official positions on the upcoming local ballot measures. As the leading advocate for the business community in Greeley, the Chamber is committed to addressing issues that directly affect the economic vitality and quality of life in our region. After thorough consideration, the Chamber’s Board of Directors and Policy Steering Committee have endorsed the following ballot measures:
- Food Tax (ORDINANCE No. 31): This measure proposes the continuation of the food tax, first initiated in 1990 and renewed every five years since. The Chamber supports this continuation as it allows the City to maintain its current level of services and improvements without introducing new taxes.
- Debt Issuance (ORDINANCE No. 32): This new measure would enable the City to leverage a federally subsidized funding program for critical transportation infrastructure improvements. The Chamber supports this initiative to enhance safety and connectivity along Highway 34 and improve regional access between Greeley, neighboring communities and the airport.
Why These Measures Matter
