Museums
Greeley and the surrounding communities offer a glimpse into the rich and storied history of Weld County through many museums open to the public.
Train enthusiasts should take particular note of the Greeley Freight Station Museum. This new museum features a 5,500 square foot HO gauge model railroad in beautiful mountain scenery. The GFSM is considered one of the best in the world - you've never seen anything like it! The GFSM will have extended hours from Memorial Day through Labor Day: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 10am-4pm, Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 1pm-4pm, and on the first Friday of the month 6pm-9pm.
The Greeley History Museum features artifacts from around Greeley and Weld County, temporary exhibits, and a permanent installation on the importance of water to this community.
Considered by many in the state to be the finest representation of Colorado’s heritage, Centennial Village Museum was a bicentennial project. It features actual historical structures relocated from their original sites to a beautiful park-like setting. Visitors can experience the feeling of a Native American tipi or appreciate the furnishings and art of the Victorian era.
The Meeker Home Museum was the residence of Greeley’s founder, Nathan Meeker, and his family. The home features many of the original furnishings moved with the family when then came west from New York.
Visitors can take a peek at life on the farm at the Plumb Farm Learning Center in west Greeley. The farm hosts special events each year, including Baby Animal Week in the spring, and Pets and Popsicles during the summer.
Weld County boasts a number of additional historical museums, offering the visitor a wider glimpse into the panorama of the rich history this area has to offer.

For all flower lovers, the James A. Michener Library houses a collection of gladiolus literature from throughout the world, and honors both outstanding gladiolus varieties and persons who have notably contributed to the gladiolus culture. Materials in the International Gladiolus Hall of Fame Special Collection are available in the University Archives, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by appointment with the university archivist.
