Representing the Interests of Business with Government
Local Government and Business Affairs Committee
The mission of the Local Government & Business Affairs Committee (LGBAC) is to favorably influence the actions of the local government entities related to the enhancement of a positive business environment.
In its work, the committee studies proposed government activities in relation to their impact on the business climate. Representatives of various entities may make a presentation to the committee, but do not participate in the decision to take a position, or in the drafting of such documents.
The committee is composed of up to 23 chamber members appointed by the Chamber Board of Directors. Representation from the entire Chamber business community is considered when determining the composition of committee membership.
LGBAC has established the following priorities for the focus of its work; however, should some action be proposed which impacts the ability of business to flourish in the community, the committee reserves the right to take action on behalf of the Chamber.
Priority Policy Statements
- Community Growth and Development
- Economic Development
- Education
- Safety
- Transportation
- Water
